Random Thoughts

Thank God it’s Friday! There’s nothing like the weekend to look forward to.

I initially planned to spend the night to grab some much needed sleep but a quick call from my good friend made me make some last minute changes in my plan.

Before meeting my friends to watch Marie Antoinette, I went for a haircut. I just love having my hair cut!

We had a nice dinner at Chicken Bacolod Inasal… all that cholesterol!!! Well, we don’t eat there often anyway, so I guess it’s okay.

We had the famous chicken inasal (grilled chicken) and the yummy chikinini (fried chicken skin)…especially when you put it in rice. Don’t eat it often though or you’ll die early.

After that, we went to see Marie Antoinette. Hmmm, the storyline was garbage but I liked the cinematography! Kirsten Dunst must’ve been really happy to get that role! All she did was pretend to shop, eat, gamble and party! The dialogue was crap, they would be lucky if they were able to fill in three pages for the script.

However, one movie did keep us entertained--- the Korean couple beside me. Seems that they were putting on a performance of their own that night. It was my first time to experience having the person beside me making out, eewwww. It’s a good thing that the movie was not really worth watching or else I would’ve told the kids to keep it down. After the movie, we waited for the couple to leave before us so that we could see their faces. After all, you have to give credit where credit is due.

Greenbelt was really packed considering it was already almost midnight when we left. What was surprising was that there were still a lot of cars in EDSA. It took us 40 minutes from Makati to our area, long enough to finish a whole CD. Normally, it would only take me 15 minutes!!!

C5 Accident (Warning... too graphic)

And here's one more example of how you'll end up if you are not careful... This happened in C5 last September 16. Apparently, the guy was hit by an FX and then run over by the truck... Who do you think was the one at fault? Personally, I think that it's either the FX or the motorbike person! Poor guy!

Caveat Emptor

Here in the Philippines, if something seems to good to be true, then it must be. The government's regulations regarding food and drugs is so lax that even vigilant consumers get tricked by unscrupulous businessmen who are just out to make a quick buck. Kinda scary, huh!?

Last week, the local television network just disclosed two unethical business practices in the food and drug industry.

The first incident was about some Chinese businessmen making fake medicine and vitamins and selling them under reputable brands such as Centrum, Viagra, etc. These fakes are sold at 50% off the market price. A lot of people got duped by this scam since they look exactly like the real deal, from the packaging to the actual product.

The second incident was about some guy who buys expired Japanese products such as noodles and cookies (good thing I don't like cookies and noodles, but that's beside the point). He tampers with the date so that he can sell them to major supermarkets. There are lots of things wrong with this picture.

1. Why are the Japanese even selling these stuff? I expect that they have a reliable disposal method so that expired products don't reach the hands of consumers. It's still their name which is on the line if someone gets sick eating these junk.

2. Didn't anyone find it fishy that this joker is bringing in expired stuff. I mean, what can he possibly do with it? (I guess that he paid the authorities to shut up!)

Well, I'm sure that even if these things were exposed on television, a lot of Filipinos would still be ignorant about it. Most of them are too busy watching stupid game shows and that idiotic Pinoy Big Brother to even have time to watch the news.

Anyway, I just hope that our government would do something about it. A lot of Filipinos are poor and ignorant and because of that, I think that the government should give them more protection against these kinds of scams.

Marc Nelson Rulezzzz!!!

I think that most girls here would agree with me when I say that Marc Nelson is the hunkiest male celebrity! I've seen him in person and he looks real great even if he only had a simple yellow round neck shirt and a common pair of jeans on! Too bad, I wasn't able to have my picture taken with him. You could say that my mind temporarily went blank when I saw him!

Usually I find pictures of men in their underwear distasteful, but Marc looks good in and out of his clothes.

Some guys say that Marc is gay... I think that they're just jealous =D
